First colored version of this picture, done in colored pencils for the picture and charcoal for the background.
I like how it turned out. The smudging was part of my plan, and gives in a backlit feel.
And there's the way my scanner automatically makes all light colors look even lighter and darks even darker... which really helped with the highlighting, but makes it so you can barely see the shading on the face... ;-;

And it looked even better in the original, because you can see the little bit of orange that just tops it all off! >^<
